Series B
Concurrent Inc., an enterprise data application platform company, has secured a $10 million Series B funding round. Bain Capital Ventures led the round, while existing investors Rembrandt Ventures and True Ventures also participated. The company will use the funding for research and development on its flagship product Driven.
E-commerce solution provider Commerce Guys has announced a $7.3 million Series B round of funding. Hi Inov led the round, and existing investors ISAI, Alven Capital and Open Ocean Capital also participated. The company will use the money to accelerate the worldwide launch of its cloud development and hosting solution, Platform.sh.
Funding
BitFury, a Bitcoin infrastructure provider, has closed a $20m round of financing. Binary Financial, Crypto Currency Partners, Georgian Co-Investment Fund (GCF), Queensbridge Venture Partners and ZAD Investment Company participated in the round. The company will use the funds to build out its facilities internationally.
Cyber security company Fortscale has raised $10 million in funding, led by Intel Capital and Blumberg Capital. Existing investors, including Swarth Group, also participated. The company will use the money in part to establish new headquarters in Silicon Valley and to expand the Israeli-based research and development team.
M&A
Roche Holding has agreed to buy Genia Technologies for up to $350 million. Genia is developing a single molecule, semiconductor-based, DNA sequencing platform using nanopore technology. Roche will pay an initial $125 million in cash and up to $225 million in additional payments based on the achievement of certain goals.
