IPO

Web hosting and Internet domain registrar company GoDaddy raised $440 million in its IPO after pricing 22 million shares at $20 apiece. The company’s current market capitalization is upwards of $3 billion, $4.5 billion if one includes debt. GoDaddy’s public market debut comes just three years after it was acquired by KKR, Silver Lake, and Technology Crossover Partners for $2.25 billion. The stock was trading at $26.50 as of Thursday’s market close.

The hipster online marketplace Etsy set terms for its own IPO. It expects to sell 16.67 million shares for between $14 and $16, which if priced in the middle would translate into an initial market cap of $1.66 billion.

M&A

Intel is in advanced talks to acquire its fellow semiconductor producer Altera, a company with a market capitalization of $10.4 billion that soared to $13.4 billion on Friday upon news of the deal. Shares of Intel also jumped 6.4% following the report in The Wall Street Journal.

Israeli security company Check Point Software Technologies, which boasts a market capitalization of $15 billion, has purchased Lacoon Security for a rumored $80 million. For Check Point, the deal marks a push into mobile, where Lacoon’s expertise lies.

LinkedIn has acquired Refresh.io, a mobile app that scans social networks and the web for personal information that might be relevant in a business setting. Refresh.io raised a $10 million Series A in 2013 from Haystack, Foundation Captial, CRV, and Redpoint Ventures. The app will be closed down in the next few weeks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Salesforce.com has acquired Toopher, an Austin, Tx.-based mobile security start-up that focuses on two-step login authentication, for an undisclosed amount. Toopher had raised over $3 million in debt and equity financing from Corsa Ventures, Alsop Louie Partners, and Texas Venture Labs.
