Israeli security startup Checkmarx has raised $84 million in funding from Insight Venture Partners. The company will use the new funds for global expansion and product development. Checkmarx provides application security testing and layer attack prevention, and counts Salesforce.com, SAP and the U.S. Army among its customers. “Checkmarx was founded with the goal of becoming the world leader in the application security market to provide businesses a better way to protect their data,” said Emmanuel Benzaquen, CEO of Checkmarx. “Our partnership with Insight Venture Partners will allow us to continue our pursuit of that goal as we expand our global sales operations and widen the scope of our application security platform.”
Curbside, a mobile shopping solution, has raised $25 million in Series B funding led by Sutter Hill Ventures. Index Ventures, AME Cloud Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures and others also participated in the round. The company will use the funds to expand its offering to new retailers and markets. “The response we’ve seen to Curbside from both shoppers and retailers since our launch last fall has been overwhelming,” said co-founder and CEO Jaron Waldman. “The service is perfect for mobile, on-the-go consumers. We’ve seen rapid growth since launch, with month-over-month sales increasing in excess of 50 percent. And, the service is proving to be extremely sticky with shoppers, over 55 percent of whom have made repeat purchases.”
Automatic Labs, which offers a smart driving solution, has announced a $24 million Series B funding round. USAA, CDK Global, and Comcast Ventures joined existing investors Y Combinator, RPM Ventures, Anthemis Group, Amicus Capital and prominent angel investors like Mark Goines, Jared Kopf, Rob Chandhok and Dan Rose in participating.
