Israeli AI firm Codota has raised $12 million in Series A funding, which will help the startup expand its suite of software-building solutions.
The round, led by San Francisco’s e.ventures with participation from existing investor Khosla Ventures, adds TPY Capital and Hetz Ventures to Codota’s high-profile list of VC backers. It brings Codota’s total funding to $16m, as the 2015-founded company builds out its computer code knowledge.
Codota’s semantic AI infrastructure emulates human comprehension of computer code, and is based on more than a decade of academic research at the Technion, Israel’s leading tech institution. The startup’s user base has grown by 1,000% in the past year. It reaches over a million developers monthly, helping users boost productivity by 25%.
“This is a meaningful milestone towards achieving our mission of empowering every developer in the world with the absolute best AI tools, thereby redefining developer productivity and software quality,” said Codota CEO and co-founder Dror Weiss of the round.
“We’re honored to be joined by some of the best dev-tools investors in the world and look forward to the next stage in our rapid growth as a category leader.”
