Englishman, Ian Usher is getting ready to walk away from his life in Perth in Western Australia. The 44-year old originally from Darlington in County Durham, in England has been glued to his computer screen since the auction went live noon yesterday downunder.
Currently the bid for his house, Mazda car, Kawasaki motorcycle and various other recreational toys is up to about $1,640,000 (US). Not bad considering his house, in Wellard, a suburb of Perth, was valued at less than a third of the current bidding price. It remains to be seen if the 'generous' bids are all legitimate. As a bonus Usher is also throwing into the deal a two-week trial at his job as a retail shop assistant for a rug company. All he is taking with him is his passport, his wallet and the clothes on his back.
Usher's website alife4sale.com explains the reason behind the 'pack-up and move on' attitude and attributes the motivation to his radical move to the break-up of his marriage and messy divorce of two years ago.
The current bidder, also from Australia, is paying well over the value and we'll just have to see if it goes through. After the sale, Usher's immediate plans are to visit friends and relatives back home in England and then head off around the world on a new adventure.
Fair dinkum, and best of luck mate!
