Microsoft is Finally Closing Windows

It's official: Windows XP is done. Well in terms of new sales, that is. The most ubiquitous operating system is a little bit like Bill and saying good-bye, well sort of. As with Bill, it will be difficult for Microsoft to take Windows out of the equation completely. So it is more like bidding an adieu.

Though public sales of Windows XP will officially stop on Monday, June 30th, the company has promised to offer support for the operating system through 2014 and there will no doubt be a flurry of copies exchanging hands on eBay and other share-sites for many years to come.

In the meanwhile, Vista rules the world, well sort of, unless of course if you have a Mac, though I'm sure just as Bill will be around on the scene—albeit in a diminished capacity—for a while longer, so will the XP diehards.

Anyway, so-long Bill, good-bye Windows.
