The Federal Communications Commission wants to offer a large chunk of its wireless broadband spectrum to Americans for free. The highest bidder will no doubt be tempted because of the breadth and demographics involved, but there is a one small catch... the bidder has to promise to provide a smut-free environment and filtering out all obscene adult-content on the assigned airwaves.
In the agreement, the winning bidder would get a 10-year license and would be under contract to provide access to half the US population within four years, and 95 percent of the US population by the time the license was up for renewal.
The free Wi-Fi network provider would be responsible for filtering out all adult content, and material that the FCC deems inappropriate for children, allowing more kids and families to obtain access to a much cleaner, healthier, and 100 percent filtered internet.
